Halal awareness in pharmaceutical products is an important aspect of applying religious values in healthcare. However, its implementation faces challenges related to the complexity of pharmaceutical ingredients, limited information, the availability of halal-certified products, and patient safety considerations. This study aims to analyze halal awareness in pharmaceutical products as an expression of religious observance and identify factors influencing its implementation. The study employs a qualitative literature-based approach using a narrative literature review. The literature was analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through source selection, thematic categorization, comparison of findings, and narrative synthesis. The findings indicate that religiosity, knowledge, attitudes, and perceived behavioral control are associated with the intention to use halal pharmaceutical products. Nevertheless, the practical application of halal awareness is also influenced by information transparency, supply-chain complexity, certification, and access to alternative treatments. This review emphasizes that halal awareness should be integrated with the principle of tayyib, the protection of life, and considerations of treatment safety and effectiveness. Strengthening public education, healthcare professionals’ competencies, industrial transparency, and halal assurance systems is necessary to support responsible treatment decisions. As this study is based on a narrative literature review, its findings are conceptual and require further empirical investigation.
